Disastrous February Poll Numbers for Trump

Donald Trump’s approval rating is down to 36%, with a disapproval up to 62% in the latest AP-NORC poll for February. Further breaking those numbers down, only 18% of respondents said they “strongly approve” of how Trump is handling his job as president, while 46% “strongly disapprove.”

On the economy, 59% of respondents disapprove of Trump’s job performance. 60% disapprove on immigration, Trump’s signature domestic policy. 61% disapprove of Trump’s handling of foreign policy, with an incredible 72% disapproving of his handling of Greenland.

JD Vance is even less popular, with only 32% of respondents saying they have a favorable impression of the vice president.

In ICE immigration raids, 61% of respondents think Trump has gone too far using federal law enforcement at public protests in U.S. cities. 62% say Trump has gone too far sending federal immigration agents into U.S. cities, and a majority, 52%, say Trump has gone too far deporting immigrants living in the U.S. illegally. This is one of the first polls taken of the public’s view of ICE operations in the U.S. after the death of Alex Pretti on January 24th.

69% of respondents say the country is moving in the wrong direction.

The release of the AP-NORC poll comes just days after Gallup Polling announced it would no longer conduct presidential approval polls after running them continuously for 88 years.

The AP-NORC Poll interviewed 1,156 adults from February 5th through 8th, 2026. It has a sampling error of +/- 3.9 percentage points.
